Start of Electronic IDF in Elubo 4th August 2008 - 23 July 2008
The Customs Excise and Preventive Service, in consultation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry PSD/PSI (MOTI), announces for the information of the General Public that the Electronic IDF (e-IDF) will go live in Elubo on 4th August 2008.

Collection of IRS Withholding Tax on Imports to Restart 14th July 2008. - 7 July 2008
Importers will no longer have to visit Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Port Offices for verification of their Tax Clearance Certificate or Payment of 1% Withholding Tax on Imports.

The Customs Excise and Preventive Service, in consultation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry PSD/PSI (MOTI), announces for the information of the General Public that the Electronic IDF (e-IDF) will go live in Takoradi on 14th July 2008.

Food and Drugs Board Import Permits 100% Electronic from 1st July 2008 - 1 July 2008
The Food and Drugs Board wishes to remind all importers of its regulated products - Food, Drugs (Allopathic and Herbal), Cosmetics, Medical Devices and Household Chemicals - that effective 1st July 2008, all import permit applications in respect of these products must be submitted electronically through GCNet. All manual applications for import permit are therefore no longer permitted.

Government Fiscal Measures to Regulate Specified Commodity Prices - 24 June 2008
Recent measures to regulate the prices of Wheat, Maize, Rice and Crude Vegetable Oils has resulted in a change to the Customs Tariff. The new rates take immediate effect.
